When people pick up after disaster, there are invariably stories of helpfulness and heroism. In the wake of tragic damage Monday's tornado brought to Oklahoma City, there are already reports that remind us how powerful humanity can be.

A massive mile-wide tornado struck the town of Moore, Okla., near Oklahoma City on Monday, destroying homes, schools, businesses and vehicles, among other things.
Reports say that the tornado has killed at least 91 people, 9 of them children. At least 145 people have been injured. These numbers remain in flux as more is learned about the situation.
The photos below show some of the sobering damage. Eyewitnesses also took videos of the tornado, many of which have gone viral over the past 12 hours
There are a number of ways to help, including texting a monetary contribution to Red Cross or donating to Salvation Army. A Facebook Page has also been created to help victims get their belongings back. Read more...

Barbara Garcia, a survivor of the massive tornado that tore through Moore, Okla., found her dog alive under the rubble during an interview with CBS News.
Before finding the dog, Garcia says in the interview that she was holding him while sitting on a stool in her small bathroom. The tornado tore through her neighborhood, destroying her home. She never lost consciousness, but was covered in the rubble.
"I hollered for my little dog and he didn't come, so I know he's in there," says Garcia in the interview
Then, the incredible happens. Nearly seconds later, the dog is found just a couple of feet away attempting to escape the rubble. Watch this heartfelt reunion in the video shown above. Read more...
